Nechamy Segal Ms.Ed

Hi, I’m Nechamy, a Hebrew and English literacy specialist.  Helping children learn and creating beautiful things has always been my passion. While working with children, parents and educators at my clinic and, I discovered a great need for a Hebrew Literacy curriculum.  After only finding bits and pieces of useful resources, I knew we had to build a comprehensive system for all of us. I knew that children needed something fun and interesting, parent and educators needed something easy and effective. We harnessed our confidence and some resources and built a dream team that bring to you Hebrew Scouts- the solution for Hebrew literacy.
Mussi Sharfstein

Mussi Sharfstein

Hi, I’m Mussi Sharfstein, an educator, graphic designer, and writer based out of Florida. While tutoring elementary students in Hebrew reading, I discovered the challenges facing many struggling children and the gaps in many of the systems being used. Developing and designing the NikudQuest Guidebooks blends my love for Jewish education with my passion for quality design and follows my belief that Hebrew reading should be an exciting journey presented in the most thrilling, attractive way!
Mushka Scheinfeld

Mushka Scheinfeld

Hi, I’m Mushka Scheinfeld, a graphic designer from Brooklyn, NY. I’ve always enjoyed all things art and creativity, so graphic design was a natural career path for me. While studying for my degree, I spent three years teaching in a preschool classroom, where I found my passion for bringing the lessons to life and creating a fun learning experience for my students. These years of teaching helped springboard working with several preschools in designing and building their online presence. When Nechamy first shared with me her vision for Hebrew Scouts, I was eager to get involved. Having my own young children who are learning to read and write Hebrew, it has been so rewarding to help create a better product for them and children of all backgrounds.
Esty Raskin

Esty Raskin

I’m Esty Raskin, the brand designer, art director, and illustrator for Hebrew Scouts. I’ve been doing graphic design since I was 13 years old! I’ve taught design to many students over the years and teaching is one of my favorite things to do. Watching a student grasp the material is so rewarding, and that’s one of the things I love about Hebrew Scouts – the way it makes learning Hebrew easy and exciting for every child.

I had the privilege of illustrating the Alef Bais for Letter Lab, and then designed the brands for Letter Lab and Hebrew Scouts. When designing the Hebrew Scouts materials – including logos, environment illustrations, and templates for all the different products – I focused on creating an immersive and whimsical experience. I don’t want to just put colors and words on a page – I want every interaction with the Hebrew Scouts world to be fun, engaging, and motivating. I’m so thrilled that a Hebrew curriculum of this quality – both in form and function – is now available for children.

Gitty Rosenberg

Hi, I’m Gitty, a first grade teacher turned graphic designer. I love taking things that seem hard to understand and using graphics to make it easier and clearer. I find it so meaningful to help create a well thought out, beautifully designed curriculum because I know what potential it can bring to children in a classroom. We’ve worked tirelessly to make the Hebrew Scouts curriculum engaging, attractive, and educationally intentional. My own kids have been loving the Nikud Quest readers and every week we read a new book. I’m seeing first hand how these experiences are helping them feel confident, supported, and able to connect with Torah, and hope to bring that to all children.
Chaya Klein

Chaya Klein

Hi! I’m Chaya Klein, a copywriter and content writer currently based in Brooklyn. I also have years of experience teaching in Hebrew schools around the world as well as private tutoring in Hebrew reading. It has been such an incredible journey bridging these two worlds by helping the Hebrew Scouts team to bring this revolutionary new curriculum to the public. Seeing how passionate Nechamy is about this endeavor is truly an inspiration, she put her whole heart and soul into this project and is transforming the world of Hebrew instruction. It has been a pleasure to help turn her ideas into words, and I can’t wait to see what the next stage of Hebrew Scouts brings!
Rosie Goodman

Rosie Goodman

Hi, I’m Rosie, an illustrator/graphic designer. My work has taken me through some very exciting projects, from a Brooklyn street art mural to designing local storefronts. Being part of the Hebrew Scouts team has been magical! It is so rewarding to see how everyone’s hard work comes together to create beautiful final products that are helping children everywhere. I love that I am able to bring a sense of wonder and imagination to children’s learning, and truly feel that this work is a cornerstone for a fresh approach to Hebrew literacy.

Rabbi Aaron L. Raskin

Rabbi Aaron L. Raskin

We want our users to know that we have done proper research to design the framework and the content of our curriculum. Rabbi Raskin has joined our team to help us find and cite the sources we used for our ideas and information. Acknowledging the scholars, authors, researchers that helped us get to where we are today is very important to us, to both give credit and display halachic support of our methodology. Rabbi Raskin has spent decades immersed in the work of mekoros (sources) and has been an incredible support for our important work in transforming Jewish education.
